Residential Photo Album: House Flipper Runs into Concrete Trouble in Thornhill, Ontario
Going through a major renovation can be a lot of work and stress. There are always issues uncovered along the way, and things can quickly become expensive.
A customer in Thornhill, Ontario, had recently purchased a home with plans to flip it. He wasn’t living in the building but knew he had to do something about the sinking concrete surrounding the house. The side walkway and entire backyard were all concrete. The homeowner didn’t want to spend a good chunk of his budget on pouring new concrete, so he reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling.
Project Manager Kyle O’Brien met with the customer and inspected the concrete. Kyle explained how poor fill soils could lead to sinking and showed him a video demonstrating our system. The client was blown away seeing our PolyLevel® System in action and was looking forward to his own repair.
Foreman Bill McKeown used our PolyLevel® System to lift and level all of the concrete. As our solution is injected, high-density polyurethane mixes beneath the surface and expands. This expansion lifts the slab and compresses fill material below.
The customer can’t believe he could save thousands of dollars and didn’t need to remove any old concrete. He’s thrilled he dug deeper and found an alternative solution and is looking forward to getting top dollar when he sells.
