Residential Photo Album: Sinking Pool Deck Puts Teens at Risk in Ajax, Ontario
The teenage years can be a hectic time for parents. You're trying to give kids their freedom but still keep an eye on them at the same time. This can be tricky to pull off, but having an attraction at your home can help teens stick around the house more.
A customer in Ajax, Ontario, has a beautiful pool and backyard with one problem; the pool's concrete slabs were sinking. Most of the hazards were around the stairs, and the parents were concerned about someone tripping. The pool was used each summer heavily, and they wanted to repair the concrete before it was too far gone.
Project Manager Kyle O'Brien met with the anxious parents and inspected the backyard. Kyle quickly determined that gaps were forming beneath the concrete surface. He attributed this to badly poured fill materials before the concrete going in when the pool was built.
Kyle explained that our PolyLevel® System is injected beneath the concrete, where it expands to lift the slab. This requires no cutting or removing concrete, and our 300-ft hose can reach anywhere without needing heavy machinery.
Foreman Bill McKeown started the repair by drilling dime-sized injection portholes. Our high-density polyurethane expands beneath the slab, lifting the concrete and compressing fill soils below. Once Bill completed the repair, he patched the holes with fresh concrete and sealed any seams with our NexusPro® Sealant System. NexusPro® is UV-resistant and cures the same day it is installed.
The customers are thrilled that their pool deck safe and the concrete has been saved. They knew something needed to be done, and they're glad they decided to reach out to Canadian Concrete Leveling.
