Residential Photo Album: Lockdown Leads to Customer Redoing Pool Deck in Richmond Hill, Ontario
When the world shuts down, and all of your plans go out the window, things can get a little stressful. 2020 was a year that led to anxiety and boredom, so many of us turned to improve where we were: our homes.
A customer in Richmond Hill, Ontario, knew that his family would be using their pool more than ever this past summer. The concrete pool deck had several cracks and was sinking in a few spots, causing several trip hazards to form. The homeowner wanted to make sure the pool was safe to use, so he called Canadian Concrete Leveling.
Project Manager Joe McColl met with the client and inspected his pool deck. When pools are installed, a lot of the time, fill material below the concrete isn’t correctly installed. This leads to washouts and erosion, which in turn causes the concrete to sink.
Joe showed the customer a video demonstrating our PolyLevel® System and NexusPro® Sealant System. The customer was delighted to hear that we could repair his pool in one day, and Foreman Kyle McKeown arrived at a later date for the installation.
Our high-density polyurethane is injected as two individual polymers before it mixes beneath the concrete. As it blends, the polymers expand to lift the concrete and compress the materials below. Our NexusPro® Sealant System is made from a UV-resistant, flexible sealant that forms a watertight barrier between concrete slabs.
The customer is looking forward to making the best of a unique situation. He and his family can spend the summer out by the pool and can do so without the risk of injury.
Trip Hazard
This slab cracked due to a lack of support below, leading to sinking concrete
Voids
It was easy to see where substrates below the deck had washed away and left a cavity
Cracking
Even slabs that weren't sinking were dealing with cracking caused by stress and pressure
Sealant
NexusPro® expands and contracts with the natural shift of concrete without losing integrity
Pool Deck After
The pool deck is safe and protected for the family to use for many summers to come
