A back patio is an excellent place for friends and family to hang out. They make the perfect summer barbeque spot and can even be used in the winter as an escape from the warm indoors.
A customer in Stouffville, Ontario, has a lovely back patio that they enjoy using. In recent years, the concrete deck was settling and creating a few trip hazards. Water was pooling near the foundation whenever it rained, so he knew something had to be done to protect his investment.
Project Manager Joe McColl met with the homeowner and inspected the concrete patio. Joe explained how poor fill soils could wash away over the years and leave a gap below the slab. This void allows the concrete to sink, creating the problem.
Our PolyLevel® System is injected as two separate polymers. Once injected, the solution mixes and expands. The expansion lifts the concrete and fills any gaps at the same time, preventing the issue from returning. The customer also chose to seal the cracks with our NexusPro® Sealant System. This UV-resistant sealant is flexible yet waterproof, providing a watertight seal for years to come.
Foreman Kyle McKeown used dime-sized injection ports to install the solution. Once he brought the slabs back to grade, he patched the holes with fresh concrete before sealing any cracks or seams with NexusPro®.
The customer has peace of mind knowing his investment is protected, and he’s thrilled he was able to use the patio hours after our installation.
