Residential Photo Album: Sinking Shed Floor Prevents Pool Installation in Toronto, Ontario
Having a pool installed is an exciting time for a family, especially during a lockdown. COVID restrictions have led people to find ways to have fun at home, creating a boom in the pool business. But when you’re ready to have your new oasis the last thing you want is something to stand, or sink, in the way.
A family in Toronto, Ontario, was eagerly waiting for their new pool to be put in. They were hoping to have it done before the summer season, but noticed their shed was tilting. The concrete pad the shed was built on was sinking on one side. Since this shed was going to store the pool equipment, they knew something had to be done.
The family reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling and met with Project Manager Alex Balson. Alex completed a thorough inspection of the backyard, and the parents were thrilled to hear we could repair the concrete. They expected the job would take a few days or a week, but their smiles grew when Alex explained how we could lift the shed in only a day’s work.
Foreman Kyle McKeown started by drilling several dime-sized holes in the concrete shed floor, where they installed insulation ports. To reduce any disruption to the backyard we used our 300-ft heated hose to bring the injection gun to the shed. The pair installed our high-density polyurethane, PolyLevel®, beneath the shed to lift the concrete pad. This process also fills any voids caused by soil washout, preventing the issue from returning.
The happy family is excited to have the repairs done and quickly called the pool company to let them know they were ready. They feel relieved knowing the shed is permanently repaired and their pool equipment would be protected.
