We all have that friend who absolutely loves their boat. They constantly clean it and talk about it. Maintain it as much as they mechanically can and even go so far as to customize it. It is no surprise, that a boat is a very precious commodity to some people. It’s a symbol of nautical pride and becomes a piece of your identity. The reality is boats are expensive to store, run and maintain; and unfortunately for us, Canada is geographically located in the Northern Hemisphere resulting in it possessing one of the worst climates imaginable for any variation of water activity. But this fact does not stop or even slow down, thousands of similar Canadian boating enthusiasts. Boating in Canada is an activity sadly, that one can only enjoy for a few short summer months, this makes winter storage and maintenance much more important in this part of the world. Winter storage of your boat can become another large, unexpected expense because it requires having the fluids drained, the boat winterized and a secure, locked facility. A boathouse is not only convenient and eye-catching, but they are also extremely useful for any boat owner. Most of us boaters who do not have boathouses are no strangers to the tedious task of launching our boat via a trailer in the spring and then vice versa in the fall. It can be painstaking, frustrating, and irritating. Say goodbye to that beautiful, crisp fall day. It’s time to get to work! A boathouse eliminates so much stress and hassle in so many areas, that there is no boat owner who could admit they wouldn’t want one.
We, humans, build houses for dogs, and even our cars, so it’s only logical that the best option for your boat is just that, a house. New boathouse builds have recently been restricted in Ontario on most lakes due to their proximity to the water and potential negative impact on wildlife and the environment. But if you have an existing boathouse on your property then you are golden; prepped and ready to not just give your boat a proper home, but also to become the product of envy for your dockside neighbors.
This customer wanted to bring his old boathouse back to its former glory and logically the first step is to ensure the concrete foundation is strong level, and true. The customer also wanted to sleep easy knowing their boat, their baby was sleeping safe and sound just a couple feet from their door. Project Manager Paul Mandell quickly got to work and designed a custom solution that will withstand the test of time. In a timely and professional manner, the installation team got to work repairing the concrete and sealed it, making it appear brand new.
With the concrete foundation under the boathouse repaired the customer could continue their renovation with peace of mind. All they need to think about now is how beautiful it is going to look when the renovation is completed.
