Residential Photo Album: Problematic Front Step In, Queensville ON
In Queensville, Ontario, a long concrete front walkway leading to the front door of a home had started to sink. The sinkage caused water to pool, which in colder months would freeze, and the step up into the house was significantly larger. With a recommendation from a friend in the neighbourhood, Canadian Concrete Leveling was the best solution for them. After inquiring, we had our well-experienced Project Manager, Paul Mendell, come to the home to quote our new clients. Once the quoting was complete, Bill McKeown, our veteran installation specialist, arrived later to begin the work. The work was seamless and efficient, which resulted in the homeowner giving us a 5-Star on Google!
From a far
This is the initial look at the walkway to the home.
A little closer
Taking a walk down and closer to the sinking area.
The closer look
Here is a closer look at the sinking step. Notice that the gap from the walkway to the step-up is just over an inch. This is a great opportunity for rainwater to make its way into the home and potentially leak in the basement.
The side profile
The side of the home where the sinking is occurring. We measured from the lowest point, which was away from the step to the highest as we made our way closer to the door.
All complete
The concrete is levelled back to its original height and the seams are sealed off to prevent any water penetration.
