Residential Photo Album: Another Front Walkway Sinking Exposing Foundation Brampton, ON
In Brampton, Ontario, a homeowner had noticed their front walkway starting to sink. She began to worry that the concrete was falling and that water would pool against the home and cause foundation or basement damage. The homeowner wanted a solution that did not require gutting and replacing the entire walkway but instead simply levelling it back to its original height. She inquired at Canadian Concrete Leveling, where we had our Project Manager, Danny Dos Santos, come to the home for an in-depth inspection. When surveying the area, he concluded that the best solution would be our PolyLevel® injection system. This system uses a high-density polyurethane to fill all voids underneath and lift the concrete up. PolyLevel® is the ideal solution since it is cost-effective compared to other methods, quick curing, permanent, and lightweight for the undersoil so the sinking does not re-occur. Our Installation Supervisor Kyle McKeown, and Specialist Nestor Cabrera came to the home to begin the levelling process. They started by drilling dime-sized holes into the lower point of the concrete, where our system will inject beneath the concrete. From there, we hammer in ports and begin pumping polyurethane. The material quickly fills the voids, and in most cases, you can see the concrete level before your eyes. The homeowner was highly impressed by the proficiency of the work and how the results showed quickly. Before she knew it, the concrete was level and ready to be walked on. Kyle lifted the concrete slightly above level, so water sliding toward the home now made its way away and onto the lawn.
