When you see what looks like a major repair at your home, your mind can sometimes go to the worst-case scenario. If it’s something you’re familiar with, you know what the repair cost might be, but many don’t know where to turn in terms of sinking concrete.
In Brampton, Ontario, a customer reached out to us after growing tired of dealing with a sinking side walkway that created a considerable trip hazard. Water pooled right in front of the side door, and in the winter, the entry was unusable. He worried he would have to rip out and repour the entire slab but was presently surprised after meeting with Project Manager Danny Dos Santos.
Danny inspected the area and described how water could wash out soils beneath concrete, leading to sinking. Then, he explained how our PolyLevel® System works, using expanding polyurethane injections to lift the concrete while compressing foil materials below. Danny also showed him our NexusPro® Sealant, which prevents water from seeping through any seams. The customer was relieved and quickly set up a date for the repair.
Foreman Bill McKeown started by drilling dime-sized holes in the surface to use as injection ports. Next, he lifted the slab back to a safe height, ensuring that water would drain away from the door. Once we sealed the seam with NexusPro®, Bill finished the repair by patching the injection ports with fresh concrete.
The customer is thrilled he decided to reach out to Canadian Concrete Leveling. He was impressed with the speed of the repair and appreciated the hard work from everyone involved.
Make your home a beautiful space inside and out. This home in Brampton looked dapper from the inside, but when the snow started melting, temperatures started rising, and people started to make their way to the patio, hazards struck. The back porch's step started to sink! Not only did the sinking action cause tripping hazards, but it was an eyesore too. The homeowners wanted to keep the clean look throughout the home, so they decided to call Canadian Concrete Leveling.
Canadian Concrete Leveling can keep your good-looking concrete intact while lifting it back to its original position. Since the homeowners already had great concrete work, there was no need to add more layers of concrete and jeopardize the look. From the owners doing the initial search to giving our call centre a call, we were able to send one of our Project Managers, Julio Soley, to check out the home firsthand. Once the estimate was given, Julio explained to the clients how the installation team would inject our polyurethane into the slab to lift it back. Later that week, our installation team, Bill and Aidan McKeown, arrived at the home to start the work. They followed Julio's schematics and knew exactly what to do. Bill began to drill small dime-sized holes into the lower points of the concrete to prepare them for the polyurethane injections. Once the holes were made, the holes were capped. The caps are meant for the PolyLevel® gun that will hook on securely so that once the poly is being injected, the gun stays in its place. Bill began injecting the holes and watched the concrete step lift almost right away. The lifting process baffled our clients, and Aidan was on standby to put the sealant between the joints. Our sealant referred to as NexusPro®, is waterproof, anti-cracking, and chemical resistant so that it will be long-lasting for many years. The process only took under an hour, and the clean-up was immaculate. The step looked a lot newer than before, leaving the homeowners comfortable knowing that no one will trip and the clean look it has now given off.

Sometimes things go wrong in our homes without us even noticing. There are so many different factors at play that something could be behind a wall or floor for years before you catch it.
A couple in Brampton, Ontario, noticed it felt like they were walking downhill when they were in their basement. They had recently renovated the space and, during the reno, noticed how sloped the basement floor was. Their fireplace was even sitting a few inches higher than the floor.
They were terrified that the entire floor would need to be removed but were relieved after meeting with Project Manager Paul Mendell. Paul showed them how we could lift the floor, and a date was set for the repair to take place.
Foreman Bill McKeown has dealt with many situations just like this one. He injected our PolyLevel® polyurethane throughout the floor, slowly lifting it back to the wall. Once finished, he patched the injection holes with fresh concrete.
The customer loves how level their basement floor is now. Their fireplace is back to where it should be, and they saved thousands not having to excavate the basement floor.
